Are you interested in training to become an American Accent Specialist?

Perhaps you are an ESL teacher and would like to learn how to modify speech or work on pronunciation beyond what you learned in school ...

Or maybe you have non-native speakers in your life that you would like to help.

You don’t have to have a degree in English or teaching, but you should speak English well yourself. The rest? You can learn!

We are now offering a “mentoring” program where you can work directly with Rebecca Linquist to learn the “tricks of the trade.”

Training includes how to:

• Analyze speech for specific areas of focus
• Prioritize speech issues and work to improve them
• Elicit correct sounds from a non-native speaker
• Create behavioral change rather than just sharing theory
• Employ underlying concepts of speech therapy that ESL teachers need to know
• Move beyond “pronunciation” work to create real change in an accent

You will have the opportunity to:

• Ask specific questions
• Learn what materials to use
• Learn how to adjust materials for specific accents
• Discover how to modify specific first language accents
• Learn how to systematically create change
